Pescărelul negru
Merg spre casă pe lângă râu. De ce? Pentru că drumul e mai scurt.
Pe malul opus, o pasăre neagră. E ger. Ce pasăre rezistă la aceste condiții?
De pe o piatră înzăpezită, pasărea intră în apă. Apare la o distanță. O fi
mierlă? Nu cred. Mierlele vin dimineața în livadă sau curte, dar n-am văzut
mierle care să se apropie de apă.
Regret că nu am la mine aparatul foto. Mă opresc și cercetez pasărea. Nu dă
semne că o deranjez.
Parcă are un plastron alb.
Mi-e frig. Mă grăbesc spre casă. Am un atlas cu păsări. Sau caut pe internet.
Găsesc numele păsării: pescărelul negru sau mierla de apă. Chiar și
un filmuleț despre mierla de apă, așa cum o văzusem cu puțin timp în urmă. Este
pasărea care
,,merge” pe sub apă. Este adaptată la vânătoarea subacvatică. Trăiește mai ales
în zonele montane, întotdeauna în apropierea apelor. Chiar și iarna tinde să
stea în locurile fără gheață foarte aproape de apă.

I am walking home along the river. Why? Because the path is shorter.
On the opposite bank, a black bird. It is freezing. What bird can withstand
these conditions?
From a snow-covered rock, the bird enters the water. It reappears at a
distance. Could it be a blackbird? I don't think so. Blackbirds come to the
orchard or the yard in the morning, but I have never seen blackbirds go near
the water.
I regret that I don't have my camera with me. I stop and observe the bird. It
shows no signs that I am disturbing it.
It seems to have a white breast.
I am cold. I hurry home. I have a bird atlas. Or I'll search on the internet.
I find the bird's name: the black gull (white-throated dipper) or the water
blackbird. Even a short video of the water blackbird, just as I had seen it a
short while ago. It is the bird that "walks" underwater. It is
adapted for underwater hunting. It lives mostly in mountain areas, always near
water. Even in winter, it tends to stay in ice-free spots very close to the
water.
